"mirabilia" - 2013
The work for this exhibition was inspired by an observation of space. Elisa de Magalhes, our instructor and artist, organized this group exhibition named "mirabilia," which means "wonderful, marvellous, remarkable" in Latin.
Each of us could choose a spot in the Terreiro Contemporâneo for dance and art, which is located in the center of Rio de Janeiro, to display our pieces, which should speak to the venue.
After noticing that there was only one exit door and one entrance door in a four-story building, I came up with my final concept. This meant that there was no emergency exit. In order to provide the viewers the chance to escape at any time with me, I reproduced 24 frames from a film of me sprinting towards an emergency door.
